“Peter Piper” – Run DMC
“Diamonds & Gasoline” – Turnpike Troubadors
“Too Late for Goodbye” – Randy Rogers Band

Simple Sophistication
What’s your favorite color?
Blue
What’s your top tip for someone looking for a designer?
Honesty and jiving with the designer’s personality.
What gives you daily inspiration?
I always feel inspired and motivated (and beyond happy!) after my second cup of coffee. While coffee is my vice, it is one of life’s simplest pleasures. I take no shame in enjoying every day…and throughout the day. My beloved caffeine often gives me exciting design ideas, the boost to exercise, or the desire to feverishly clean my house! It makes me want to conquer the day in a way that I believe I will make a change.
Design wise, some of my most fun ideas come after that second cup — i.e. wild wallpaper in a powder room that is both bold and surprising or a steel mantle detail on an existing river rock fireplace surround with a log mantle fire place. Whatever it may be, the adrenaline rush helps me explore the depths of a design concept and jot down notes. I joke that if I drank coffee in high school, I would have had straight A’s!
Silly as this all may sound, it really is a love of mine. Most people who know me will see me with a cup in my hand as an added accessory — it’s simply a part of me! It takes my passion for design to a whole new level.
